An informal environment, particularly frequented by workers during their lunch break, featuring dishes that are closely associated with Calabrian cuisine. Not sought-after or sophisticated, but homemade in flavor as the name of the place suggests. The dining room is located upstairs and is not very large, so I think it’s better to reserve a table if you arrive during peak hours (around 1:00 PM when the largest crowd is). The service we used was a menu consisting of a choice among 3 first courses (today: baked pasta - spicy andouille pasta but not overly 😘 - clam pasta 😋 👍), 3 main courses (today: chicken with peas in sauce 😋 - pork chop 😋👍 - hamburger), plus side (baked potatoes or a small salad) + water and coffee at a fixed price of €12.00 (there's also a menu with a single dish at €18). We enjoyed all the courses, which were plentiful and well-cooked. The tables are set with cloth tablecloths and fabric napkins rather than paper ones, giving the place a refined 'plus' with a stylish setup. Great value for lunch; I will try the place also for dinner. Our experience was accompanied by efficient, fast, courteous, and attentive table service. Will we go back? Certainly at the first chance.
